What if the amount or instructions are unclear?
Before using medicine with an unclear amount, have the prescriber or pharmacist explain how much is meant.
Ozempic and Wegovy contain semaglutide and are used for diabetes or weight loss. Compounded medicine is prepared to order for an individual patient. FDA, the US Food and Drug Administration, has received reports of mistakes with amounts of made-to-order semaglutide injections; some people needed hospital care.
What does preparation quality change?
FDA says poorly prepared medicine may contain dirt or germs, or an amount of its active ingredient that is too high or too low.
The ingredient meant to do the medicine’s work is called its active ingredient.
A polished website cannot confirm what is in a delivered product.
Do all peptides need the same storage?
No. Storage depends on the exact product; some approved peptide medicines need refrigeration and others use room-temperature storage.
Ask for the instructions for that product and what to do if delivery conditions are wrong.
When does a reaction need emergency help?
A severe allergic reaction may come on fast and threaten life.
MedlinePlus says to get emergency care for severe symptoms, including trouble breathing or swelling of the tongue.
The US National Library of Medicine provides patient information through MedlinePlus.
Can I report a problem myself?
FDA’s free MedWatch programme accepts reports from patients about problems with medicines.
A report tells FDA about a problem. It does not prove the medicine caused that problem.
